Steven Scott, DO has received the Military Officers Association of America's (MOAA) Distinguished Service Award, which honors individuals or organizations that are not members of Congress but have been consistent supporters of national defense and the uniformed services community. One of MOAA's highest annual awards, it will be presented to Dr. Scott during a ceremony to be held on April 12, 2016 on Capitol Hill. A nationally recognized expert in physical medicine, rehabilitation, and polytrauma with research expertise in polytrauma and traumatic brain injury, Dr. Scott is co-Director of HSR&D's Center for Innovation on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (CINDRR) and Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the VA Tampa Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center. Among many years of awards and honors, he has also received the PenFed Foundation Military Hero Award, as well as the Olin E. Teague Award - the highest honor for treating war-related injuries in the VA.
MOAA is the nation's largest and most influential association of active duty, National Guard, Reserve, retired, and former military officers and their families and survivors.
