Kenneth Boockvar, MD, MS is Associate Professor in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Adult Development at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Co-Principal Investigator of the Center for the Study of Health Care across Systems and Sites of Care at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. He is also staff physician at The Jewish Home and Hospital, an academic nursing home in New York City. He studies the epidemiology and health service aspects of the care of older adults, including nursing home residents. Current work focuses on discontinuities in care for older adults transferred between sites of care, appropriate medication prescribing for hospitalized patients, and involvement of front-line nursing staff (nursing assistants) in medical decision-making in the nursing home. He is recipient of a Research Career Development Award from VA Health Services Research and Development Service.
