HSR&D Collaborative Research to Enhance and Advance Transformation and Excellence (CREATE) Initiative

Resources

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Research and Development (ORD), Health Services Research and Development Service (VA HSR&D) announces the opportunity for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) HSR&D investigators in partnership with VA regional or national partners, to submit proposals in response to the Collaborative Research to Enhance and Advance Transformation and Excellence (CREATE) initiative.

CREATEs are defined as a group of coordinated research projects conducted in a focused research area by independent, collaborating investigators coordinating with one or more VA Partner(s) to address high-priority health system issues. Partners may be local, regional, or national clinical, operations, or other healthcare system stakeholders. Each individual research project within a CREATE Program must be scientifically meritorious and must consider a distinct but complementary area of investigation. The individual studies within a CREATE Program may vary in timelines, size, and methods but must have a common purpose of advancing knowledge in a focused area of research that is important to VHA stakeholder(s). Individual research projects must be clearly interrelated and demonstrate that collaboration and coordination of efforts will impact synergistically to produce deliverables and new knowledge that offer a distinct advantage to pursuing individual projects separately.
