Lisa Rubenstein, MD, MSPH, Named President of SGIM

Lisa Rubenstein, MD, MSPH, was recently elected President of the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM). SGIM is an international organization of nearly 3000 physicians and others dedicated to improving patient care, education and research in primary care and general internal medicine. SGIM members conduct research on an array of topics that include quality of care, health care disparities, patient safety, and evidence-based medicine. They also work to develop and evaluate innovations in medical education, while continuing to diagnose and treat patients, particularly those with multiple, complex diseases.

Part of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Dr. Rubenstein leads HSR&D's Center for the Study of Healthcare Provider Behavior in Sepulveda and also is co-Clinical Research Coordinator for VA/HSR&D's Mental Health Quality Enhancement Research Initiative.
