HSR&D Investigator, Timothy Wilt, MD, MPH Joins U.S. Preventive Services Task Force

Timothy Wilt, MD, MPH, part of HSR&D's Center for Chronic Disease Outcomes Research in Minneapolis, recently joined the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which consists of 16 health care experts in the specialties of family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, geriatrics, preventive medicine, public health, behavioral medicine, and nursing. Supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Task Force conducts rigorous, impartial assessments of the scientific evidence for the effectiveness of a broad range of clinical preventive services that include screening, counseling, and preventive medications. Recommendations from the Task Force are considered the "gold standard" for clinical preventive services.

Dr. Wilt is a board-certified internal medicine specialist, whose research interests include evidence-based chronic disease prevention and management.
