Dr. Jodie Trafton is the Director of the VA Program Evaluation Resource Center (PERC) for VA Central Office of Mental Health Operations, a core investigator at the Center for Innovation to Implementation (Ci2i) at VA Palo Alto, and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Center for Health Policy at Stanford University School of Medicine. PERC evaluates VHA’s mental health programs, designs national and pilot quality improvement strategies, and facilitates implementation of mental and behavioral health policy. She has experience as a VA HSR&D and QUERI principal investigator with grant-funded research and specific expertise in chronic pain and addiction and its treatment, in decision support systems for managing opioid therapy, facilitation of clinical guideline implementation, and performance measurement. As a neurobiologist, Dr. Trafton has unique expertise in translation of the implications of basic and clinical research on brain and behavior into clinical practice and policy.
