Dr. Steven Wright is the Director, Office of Performance Management, Office of Informatics and Analytics. He is a national leader in the VHA performance management program which has a broad national mission in support of evidence-based, data-driven processes for continuous quality improvement. Dr. Wright provides expert analytic and technical leadership in the management and analysis of the complex and varied healthcare data used to measure the quality of care. He directs the Survey of the Healthcare Experiences of Patient (SHEP), the VHA national program assessing patient’s perception of care using the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) protocol. He is responsible for the valid collection, management, and analysis of quality data by the national External Peer Review Program (EPRP), which is the primary source of patient clinical data for the VHA performance measurement system. He is also responsible for the Electronic Quality Measurement (eQM) platform which supports reporting of population based clinical quality measures.Veterans Health Administration, Central Office, Washington, D.C.
