Dr. Ira Katz is the Medical Director of the Office of Suicide Prevention and a Senior Consultant for Mental Health Program Evaluation at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is also Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Katz’s most recent work involves suicide risks, prevalence, and mortality in the US veteran population. He received his Ph.D in Chemistry from Columbia University and obtained his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
