Dr. Rebecca Beyth has a broad background in clinical research, biostatistics, clinical epidemiology and outcomes research with specific training, expertise and skills in primary and secondary data analyses, as well as in mixed methodologies (qualitative and quantitative techniques). Her research interests and expertise are in chronic diseases, health promotion, and improving the process of care. Additionally, she has clinical training in internal medicine, and clinical geriatrics. Dr. Beyth has successfully maintained external peer-reviewed funding either from the Department of VA, NIH, or other national organizations (AHA). She also has established a successful track record in mentoring trainees for career development awardees (both VA and non-VA awardees). She has also served on the NIH/NIA study section that reviews CDAs for two consecutive terms. Furthermore, she has been a recipient of both a NIH/NIA CDA and VA CDA as well. The culmination of this training and experience has enabled her to serve as a successful mentor for junior faculty.
