Dr. Amy Heneghan, is a pediatrician at Palo Alto Medical Foundation and previously served as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Case Western Reserve University (Case) and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. She conducted community-based research in the area of maternal depression and pediatricians’ recognition of mothers with depression and has published numerous articles in this area. She received several grants including a four-year career award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as part of the Generalist Physician Faculty Scholars Program and a grant from the Ohio Department of Mental Health to pilot screening of new mothers for postpartum depression in the Help Me Grow Program. From 2001-2006 she directed the Rainbow Research Network (RRN), a practice-based research network of over 200 pediatricians in the greater Cleveland area. Under Dr. Heneghan’s direction and with funding from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the RRN grew steadily in the past few years. She was appointed Associate Dean for Admissions at the Case School of Medicine in 2004, where she served in this role until June of 2006. She was busy writing papers and consulting for the state of Ohio and the Office of Admissions at Case Western Reserve University.
