Dr. Paul Heidenreich is Professor of Medicine and Health Research and Policy at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He also serves as a Vice-Chair for quality in the Department of Medicine. He is a practicing non-invasive cardiologist and directs the VA's Chronic Heart Failure Quality Enhancement Research Initiative, a center actively engaged in improving the quality of heart failure care throughout the VA Health Care System. Dr. Heidenreich has an extensive background in outcomes and health services research in the areas of technology assessment including use of screening with diagnostic tests, quality improvement, and economic analyses. He currently serves as Chair of the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association's Task force on Performance Measurement, and as Vice-Chair of the American Heart Association’s Council on Quality of Care and Outcomes Research.
