Dr. Mark Ilgen is a clinical psychologist, investigator with the VA Center for Clinical Management Research (CCMR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. He studies strategies to improve treatment outcomes in adults with substance use disorders with a particular interest in those individuals with co-occurring chronic pain and addiction as well as those at particularly high risk for suicide. His work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. Dr. Ilgen has experience mentoring junior researchers and emerging scholars, and is highly invested in the success of HSR&D Career Development Awardees.
