Dr. Mark Kunik is a geriatric psychiatrist whose research focuses on examining the determinants, prevention and treatment of behavioral disturbances in patients with dementia. Dr. Kunik is also interested in psychosocial interventions to treat anxiety and depression in older patients. He is currently the Associate Director for the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety, and the Director of the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC). Dr. Kunik is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Baylor College of Medicine.
