Dr. Matt Maciejewski is a Research Career Scientist at the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care at the Durham VA Medical Center and Professor in the Department of Medicine at Duke University. He has conducted multiple research projects funded by VA, AHRQ, CMS, and the RWJ HCFO Initiative. Dr. Maciejewski uses large administrative data to examine care models for patients with multiple chronic conditions (MCC) and health and economic outcomes of bariatric surgery. He has also conducted rigor evaluations of policy changes including the introduction of community-based outpatient clinics, the 2002 VA medication copayment increase, value-based insurance design programs and changes in VA and CMS payments for dialysis.
