Dr. Karin Nelson is a core investigator for the Northwest HSR&D Center of Excellence at VA Puget Sound Health Care System. She is Associate Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of Washington and an affiliate investigator at Public Health-Seattle and King County. Dr. Nelson is also the associate director of the VHA patient centered medical home (PACT, Patient Aligned Care Team) national evaluation, as well as an attending physician at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Her research interests include the social determinants of health, community based research and chronic disease self-management.
