Dr. Nina A. Sayer is Deputy Director of the Center of Innovation (COIN) at the Minneapolis VAHCS, the Center for Chronic Disease Outcomes Research (CCDOR), Research Director (PI) for the Polytrauma and Blast-Related Injuries QUERI, and Director of the Evidence Based Therapies for PTSD CREATE. CREATE is a program grant involving four studies focused on improving access and engagement in evidence-based PTSD care. Dr. Sayer’s independent research has been continuously funded by VA HSR&D since 1999. Funded studies have examined postdeployment health, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), psychiatric disability, unmet needs for mental health treatment, and TBI/polytrauma. Dr. Sayer is Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Psychiatry and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sayer has been a mentor for health services research fellows and CDAs.
