Dr. Mark Vander Weg is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa and an Investigator with the Comprehensive Access & Delivery Research & Evaluation (CADRE) at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. Dr. Vander Weg’s primary research interests include the prevention and treatment of nicotine dependence and other substance use disorders, the etiology and management of overweight and obesity, and other behavioral risk factors for cancer and cardiovascular disease. He has served as an investigator on a number of federally-funded projects focusing on tobacco use prevention and cessation and cardiovascular risk reduction in a variety of populations.
