Collaborations

Women’s Health Core: This group of VA researchers collaborates on infographics, portfolio reviews, and other initiatives to support and accelerate pain and opioid research for women Veterans. For example, the group partnered with the VA Women’s Health Research Network to produce a 2025 report on Chronic Pain in Women Veterans .

VA Pain Services Evaluation Program (PSEP): This partnership between the Pain Management, Opioid Safety, and Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PMOP) Office and the PRIME Center – led by Dr. Sara Edmond – aims to conduct rigorous partnered program evaluation to 1) develop and refine measurement approaches for tracking indicators of high-quality pain care and high functioning pain management teams (PMTs), 2) evaluate the impact of PMOP initiatives and policies on pain care and PMTs throughout VHA, and 3) support PMOP in the development and implementation of best practices for PMTs.
