David Asch, MD, MBA, co-director of VA HSR&D's Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP), was presented with the 2009 Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Dr. Asch was acknowledged for his longstanding focus on inter-professional education and collaboration, as well as the "wit and wisdom he brings to classroom instruction." In addition to being co-director of CHERP, Dr. Asch is also the Robert D. Eilers Professor of Medicine and Health Care Management and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Wharton School of Business.
