Description: Although research suggests that PTSD can have a variety of negative implications for the quality of life of Iraq and Afghanistan War Veterans, less is known about how PTSD differentially impacts the well-being of female as compared to male Veterans. Study findings from a large prospective study of female and male Iraq and Afghanistan War Veterans will be presented. Women’s as compared to men’s work- and family-related quality of life will be described, and gender differences in the impact of posttraumatic stress disorder on both work and family outcomes will be overviewed. Intended audience: researchers and clinicians who are interested in understanding gender differences in OEF/OIF Veterans engagement in the civilian workplace.
