Alcohol and Drug Use among Women Veterans: What We Know and What We Don’t Know

Description: This talk will provide an overview of the epidemiological data on rates of alcohol and drug use and misuse among women Veterans and how they compare to those for men Veterans and to women civilians. Information on the clinical presentations of women Veterans with substance use disorders will also be provided. Gaps in the current research literature and clinical and research implications for VHA will be discussed. Intended audience: any researchers, policy-makers, and clinicians interested in the topic.
