Joint Legacy Viewer: Practical Use in a Research Setting

Description: Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV) is VA’s VistAWeb replacement for Electronic Health Record (EHR) chart review. In addition to allowing users to review and search for Veteran data generated from VA, DoD, and community health information exchange, JLV will be pivotal as sites modernize, allowing users to access charts from Cerner Millennium and CPRS Vista. This seminar will include an interactive presentation on the basic use of JLV in the research setting. It will cover common use cases as well as tips and tricks to optimize your tabbed workspaces. The live demonstration will be followed by an extended Q&A session. Participants are invited to come with their JLV questions and concerns. Objectives: • Introduce how JLV can be used to facilitate Veteran chart review across VA, DoD, and Community Care settings. • Demonstrate how to optimize an EHR search using tabs, widgets, filtering, and cross-referencing strategies. • Explain how to troubleshoot common JLV problems/issues.
