Description: Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a widespread and pervasive public health problem. IPV has been associated with a myriad of poor health outcomes, adverse health behaviors and increased health care utilization. In recent years, there has been increased study of the magnitude and scope of this issue in Veterans’ populations, although more work is needed. This presentation will give an overview of IPV with an emphasis on the Veterans population. Evidence from recent studies will be incorporated into a discussion of clinical practice, particularly primary care.
