Description: The first ORD-wide VA Women’s Health Research Agenda was established in 2004, which included specific recommendations for biomedical/laboratory, clinical sciences, rehabilitation and health services research, followed in 2010, with an HSR&D-focused and partner-oriented Women’s Health Services Research Agenda. One of the recommendations of the first research agenda was to establish resources to advance VA’s capabilities to conduct more women Veterans’ research and to increase VA’s ability to add women Veterans to other studies, thereby enabling the study of gender differences. VA HSR&D acted on this recommendation in many ways, increasing scientific review and funding of appropriate grants, fostering dissemination through targeted journal supplements and funding the VA Women’s Health Research Network (WHRN). This talk will describe the progress that has been made in advancing VA’s Women’s Health Services Research Agenda through the WHRN and funded research and will discuss gaps and future opportunities.
