Description: This talk will describe both successful and challenging family-oriented research projects with both personal and colleagues’ examples. I will discuss some of the challenging factors in family member inclusion from the level of recruitment, scheduling and study retention. I will discuss a range of solutions, including study design and feasibility factors that have an impact on family member involvement in research. The intended audience is VA researchers and clinicians who support VA clinical research with Veterans and their family members.
