What is Dimensions for VA?

Dimensions for VA is a full-text search that contains more than 100 million publications, ranging from articles published in scholarly journals, books and book chapters, to preprints and conference proceedings. The search has dedicated filters for researchers, categories, Open Access, and more. All publications are contextualized with linked data sets, funding, publications, patents, clinical trials, and policy documents. You can also view associated categories, funders, institutions, and researcher profiles. Dimensions also offers analytical views that support the understanding of research trends and research activities. Citation-based indicators and Altmetric attention scores also help you to evaluate the impact of the research you view.

Dimensions for VA is a web-based SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) tool that HSR and OIT have procured to help VA researchers and their VA partners navigate the universe of published research and funded projects. Based on the off-the-shelf Dimensions Plus platform, Dimensions for VA adds the crucial feature of filtering and displaying VA-related data – informing not only discovery, but making related analysis more efficient than ever for VA research.

Access Dimensions for VA directly from anywhere (it's on the Internet).

1. From the VA network (incl. VPN) you don't even need to log in with your @va.gov email address. (although logging in lets you save searches)
2. If you are outside VA network, you must create an account using your @va.gov email address and can then login to Dimensions for VA from anywhere (home computer, academic institution, mobile device, etc.).
