Abstract Submission

I recently submitted an abstract, but would like to make an edit. How can I make revisions?

What is the recommended format for the ____ (Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Impact Statements) section of the abstract submission form?

Our study team is interested in submitting an abstract for the HSR&D/QUERI National Meeting. Is it acceptable to submit abstracts on research that has been previously presented?
Yes, it's fine to submit work that has already been presented.

I have agreed to participate in a panel. I am not the lead author. Can I still submit two abstracts for an oral presentation and/or poster where I am the lead author?
Yes. You can be associated with multiple abstracts, however you can only be a lead author for up to two across all submissions types.

For panels, can we have 4 investigators as authors, plus another investigator as moderator?
Panels are only allowed to have a total of 4 participants: 1 moderator plus 3 presenters.

Can I include more than three authors in my workshop submission?
A maximum of three authors is allowed.

The author list for my abstract (oral or poster) submission includes 12 co-authors and one lead author, but there is only space to enter 10 total authors. What should I do?
You are allowed to submit a maximum of 10 authors total.

Is it possible that to submit an abstract after the April 7th deadline?
No.

Dates and Travel

I have longstanding vacation plans and work duties in July. Any chance you can give a more precise date so I can decide whether to make arrangements to generate a panel, workshop or abstract?
Until the contracting process works its way to completion, we have no ability to know when the meeting might be held. We have proposed dates the week of July 17 and the week of July 31, but until a contract is awarded we won’t know what the dates might be or even if those dates will still be possible.

Are travel funds provided for a lead presenter of an accepted abstract if the individual holds a WOC appointment and is not a VA employee at a center?
Yes, travel funds will be provided for any approved presenter, regardless of VA employment status.
