Using the VA All Employee Survey for implementation research: Example of workplace climate and morale in primary care clinics as predictors of medical home implementation

Helfrich CD. Using the VA All Employee Survey for implementation research: Example of workplace climate and morale in primary care clinics as predictors of medical home implementation. [Cyberseminar]. 2016 Mar 3.

Abstract:

We will describe the All Employee Survey data, an annual census of all VA employees that assesses workplace climate and morale, and discuss the challenges and opportunities of linking these survey data to other data sources for the purposes of quality improvement evaluations and research. We will present findings from an assessment of workplace climate and morale in primary care clinics prior to a patient-centered medical home initiative, the Patient-Centered Care Team (PACT) program, and their association with clinic-level implementation of PACT in subsequent years. Intended audience: Researchers and VA leaders interested in understanding workplace climate and morale, and their potential influence on efforts to improve quality of care and organizational performance. Primary care employees and leaders, and researchers interested in the PACT initiative.
