SPTD Primary Intervention Dashboard

The Suicide Prevention Trials Database (SPTD) currently contains study-level information from the 134 randomized control trials that were published between 1980 and 2022 with the primary aim of preventing suicide or suicidal self-directed violence. This dashboard allows users to select studies based on sample size, percent of the study sample that was female, and Veteran/Military status study categories. The dashboard then displays information about the primary study intervention including a plot with the number of studies in each primary intervention category, summary data, and study citations. We define primary study intervention as the treatment the study is testing to estimate effectiveness. For more detailed information on the classification of primary study intervention see our Data Story “What Suicide Prevention Interventions Have Been Studied?.

Note: There are 5 studies that were not included in the data visualization because they do not report the percent of their sample that is female. The primary intervention type for these studies was as follows: two studies were behavioral; one was pharmacological; one was care management, follow up, or monitoring; and one was multiple interventions. The Veteran/Military category for all five studies was civilian.
