Kari Gillmeyer, MD, MSc, is a pulmonary and critical care physician and health systems researcher at the Boston VA Healthcare System, where she is an investigator at the Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research (CHOIR), a VA COIN. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Gillmeyer completed her medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School and her internal medicine residency and pulmonary/critical care fellowship at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. She also completed a Master of Science in Epidemiology at Boston University School of Public Health.

Dr. Gillmeyer's research focuses on improving care quality and outcomes for patients with pulmonary hypertension, a devastating disease that is highly prevalent among Veterans. Her HSR Career Development Award, "Veteran-Centered Transformation of Pulmonary Hypertension Organization into a Regional Model of Care in VA (TRANSPHORM-VA)," will design and pilot test a telehealth-enhanced hub-and-spoke model to improve the access and quality of care for Veterans living with pulmonary hypertension.
