Alison B. Hamilton, PhD, MPH, is a psychological and medical anthropologist and health services researcher, with specific training and expertise in implementation science, women's health, mental health, qualitative and integrated mixed methods, evaluation research, public health, and community health sciences. At the VA Greater Los Angeles, she is a VA Health Services Research & Development (HSR&D) Research Career Scientist and Implementation Research Director at the VA HSR&D Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation, & Policy (CSHIIP). She directs the VA EMPOWER 2.0 Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI), focused on using implementation science to improve evidence-based preventive care for women Veterans. She also directs the VA QUERI Evidence-Based Quality Improvement Implementation Strategy Learning Hub, and co-leads the VA HSR&D Women's Health Research Network, with a focus on multilevel engagement in women's health research. She also co-leads the QUERI-funded Rapid Qualitative Methods for Implementation Practice Hub. At CSHIIP, Dr. Hamilton co-leads the Women's Health Focused Research Area as well as the VA GLA Women's Health Fellowship Program and Advanced Fellowships Program in Health Services Research. At UCLA, Dr. Hamilton is a Professor-in-Residence in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, David Geffen School of Medicine. She is currently PI of the NIMH-funded Rapid, Rigorous, Relevant Implementation Science Training Hub, which provides implementation science training, support, mentoring, and resources to Ending the HIV Epidemic pilot studies, and she is MPI of the NIH Fogarty-funded Sustainable Academic Capacity-Building of Excellence through Research and Training Program (SACERT), serving early career scholars in South Africa. She serves as an Associate Editor for Implementation Science Communications, and on the Editorial Boards of Implementation Science, Women's Health Issues, and Implementation Research and Practice.
