Description: Social determinants of health can have significant impacts on the medical readiness of military service members and hold long-term implications for their long-term well-being. This presentation describes the ethical responsibilities militaries have to promote the social determinants of health of its service members. It explores this through the lens of the U.S. military and discusses how these ethical considerations are relevant for the field of pain medicine among military and Veteran populations.
