Congratulations to HSR investigator Elizabeth Yano, PhD, MSPH, who was invited to attend an Executive Order signing and reception at the White House!

The invitation, sent from the Office of the First Lady and Gender Policy Council, was issued in recognition of Dr. Yano’s work in women’s health and her contributions to the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research, which led to an Executive Order on Advancing Women’s Health Research and Innovation.

During the March 18 signing event, Dr. Yano watched from a special VIP viewing area as President Biden signed the Executive Order and announced what the White House described as “the most comprehensive set of actions ever taken to advance women’s health research and innovation.”

Dr. Yano is Director of HSR’s Women’s Health Research Network (WHRN) and HSR’s Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation and Policy (CSHIIP). She was among the VA and HSR experts who presented at a Disabled American Veterans event held February 27 on Capitol Hill, which focused on the mental health of women Veterans.
