Matt Maciejewski has 22 years' experience in health services research, health economics, and program evaluation. He is a Senior Research Career Scientist in the Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation (ADAPT) at the Durham VA Medical Center where he leads the Non-randomized Design (NRD) Lab. He is also a Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the Duke University Medical Center, and an Adjunct Professor in the Schools of Public Health and Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Maciejewski has received funding from VA HSR&D, NIDA, NIDDK, AHRQ, RWJ HCFO Initiative, and CMS to use administrative data to examine how financial and non-financial programs and policies impact patient and health system outcomes using rigorous quasi-experimental methods. He conducts research in clinical and economic impacts of programs and interventions for the management of obesity and chronic conditions. Matt has over 240 articles published or in press and serves on the editorial board of Health Services Research and AcademyHealth's Methods Council.
