Matt Maciejewski has 18 years' experience in health services research, health economics, and program evaluation. He is a Research Career Scientist in the Center for Health Services Research and Development in Primary Care at the Durham VA Medical Center where he leads the Health Economics and Policy Unit. He is also a Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at the Duke University Medical Center, and an Adjunct Professor in the Schools of Public Health and Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Maciejewski has received funding from VA HSR&D, AHRQ, RWJ HCFO Initiative, and CMS to use administrative data to examine how financial and non-financial programs and policies impact patient and health system outcomes using rigorous quasi-experimental methods. He conducts research in clinical and economic impacts of programs and interventions for the management of obesity and chronic conditions. Matt has over 160 articles published or in press and serves on the editorial board of Health Services Research and AcademyHealth's Methods Council.
