Gwendolyn Carlson, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and an investigator with the HSR&D Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation and Policy in Los Angeles, CA. She is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno; completed a clinical internship at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center; and completed a VA advanced fellowship in women's health within the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
Dr. Carlson's research focuses on women's health, insomnia, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is interested in identifying facilitators of and barriers to women Veterans' engagement in evidence-based psychotherapies. Dr. Carlson is currently funded on a 5-year, HSR&D Career Development Award titled "Increasing PTSD Treatment Engagement in Women Veterans: Role of CBT for Insomnia."
