Eric Apaydin, PhD, MPP, MS, is a Research Health Scientist at the Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation, & Policy (CSHIIP), an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, and an Adjunct Associate Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation. Dr. Apaydin studies the healthcare workforce, with an emphasis on burnout in primary care. In particular, he studies the rates and drivers of primary care burnout, as well as the effectiveness of interventions to reduce the phenomenon. Dr. Apaydin's CDA is a pilot evaluation of the effectiveness of burnout reduction interventions for primary care providers and staff, developed using evidence-based quality improvement (EBQI). He is also interested in evidence synthesis, and he regularly conducts systematic reviews on a variety of health services and clinical research topics with the VA Evidence Synthesis Program (ESP), and the Southern California Evidence Review Center (ERC) at the RAND Corporation/University of Southern California. Dr. Apaydin earned his doctorate in public policy at the Pardee RAND Graduate School, and was an Advanced Fellow in Health Services Research & Development at CSHIIP.
