Garth Strohbehn, MD, MPhil, is a medical oncologist and health systems researcher at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, where he is an investigator at the Center for Clinical Management Research (CCMR), a VA COIN. He is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Strohbehn completed his medical degree at Yale University, internal medicine residency and chief residency at the University of Michigan, and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago. He also completed a Masters of Philosophy in Clinical Biochemistry at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. Dr. Strohbehn's research focuses on improving the safety, accessibility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of cancer care by more thoughtfully dosing cancer drugs. His HSR Career Development Award, "Democratically designed optimal dosing regimens to combat overuse," will develop new clinical trial methods for right-sizing the dosages of cancer drugs through engagement with prescribers and Veterans and their caregivers.
