Ashley Griffin, PhD, MSPH, is a health informaticist and health systems researcher at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where she is an investigator at the Center for Innovation to Implementation (Ci2i), a VA COIN. She is an Instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine Center for Biomedical Informatics Research. Dr. Griffin completed her PhD in Health Informatics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Dr. Griffin's research centers upon empowering patients to understand and leverage their personal health data to improve their health and shared decision-making with care teams. Her HSR Career Development Award, "Patient-Centered Informatics for Chronic Pain Management," will develop and test a clinical decision support tool that collects and visualizes pain-related patient-generated health data to facilitate shared decision-making and treatment opportunities for Veterans living with chronic pain.
