Li-Wen Huang, MD, is a Staff Physician at the San Francisco VA Health Care System and Assistant Professor in Hematology/Oncology at UCSF. Dr. Huang received her undergraduate degree from Harvard followed by medical degree and internal medicine residency training from Duke. She completed hematology/oncology fellowship concurrent with a geriatrics T32 research fellowship at UCSF. Her research focuses on understanding the interactions between cancer, cancer therapy, and geriatric syndromes such as cognitive impairment, with the goal of improving care for older adults with cancer. Dr. Huang's NIA-VA HSR&D Career Development Award focuses on understanding the telehealth oncology experiences of older cognitively impaired cancer patients, their caregivers, and clinicians in order to design and test a patient-centered intervention, with the goal of improving telehealth cancer care delivery for Veterans despite challenges associated with age and cognitive impairment.
