Description: Cerebral microhemorrhages are a known marker of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), however this statement is likely more relevant to blunt-related as compared to blast-related mTBI, possibly reflecting different mechanisms of injury. Indeed, our findings in a recent AJNR study in service members and veterans with history of prior blast-related mTBI suggest that the prevalence of blast-related cerebral microhemorrhages is lower than previously reported in blunt-related mTBI. In this Webinar I will present and discuss our results, and will give examples of the imaging appearance of different types of cerebral microhemorrhages. Intended audience: The webinar will be of interest to clinicians working in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury.
