Description: Research in progress to better understand perceptions of deprescribing, a proactive intentional process to discontinue medications in efforts to reduce polypharmacy and associated adverse health effects. The presentation will discuss how patients and primary care prescribers (including clinical pharmacy specialists) understand and experience deprescribing, as well as explore barriers and facilitators to thoughtfully discontinue potentially inappropriate or unnecessary medications. Dr. Tim Wilt will be a discussant and available during the Q&A portion of the presentation. Intended audience: CDA community, clinicians, and pharmacy.
