Orientation to the CDA program

Putting it All Together: Designing and Packaging the CDA Application as a Whole

by Elizabeth Yano, PhD, MSPH
Seminar date: 6/9/2016

Description: This is the fifth session in a six-part series designed to provide orientation and guidance to researchers interested in applying for a CDA. While most CDA applicants (and likely their mentors) will focus on their research and career plans, there are many other very important parts of VA’s HSR&D career development application. These sections include descriptions of the resources in your environment, your budget (and justification), likely mountains of biosketches and other support forms, the human subjects section, letters of support, and more. These details will provide the foundation for your assertions in your research and career plans, as well as signal grantsmanship and the degree to which your local Center or other group is supporting you. This session will provide an overview of what it takes to put all of the pieces together as you design and package what will hopefully be a successful application. Intended audience: Prospective CDA applicants, their mentors and others who work to support local career development in HSR&D
