Description: Many US Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq are suffering from multiple physical and psychiatric problems. While a primary research focus to date has been on the effects of mTBI, the VA RR&D Translational Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders (TRACTS) has been conducting a comprehensive longitudinal cohort study to also examine the impact of commonly co-occurring conditions in this population, including posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, chronic pain, sleep disorders, cognitive impairment, and more. This multidisciplinary study is ongoing and, to date, has conducted a baseline comprehensive assessment in over 600 Veterans and a first follow up of this sample of approximately 300. This webinar will focus on aspects of the longitudinal study that are relevant to our clinical understanding and management of these Veterans. Intended audience: Clinicians and researchers interested in gaining a more comprehensive understanding of the clinical complexities of these Veterans.
