Description: Dr. Trivedi will summarize findings from three studies assessing the roles, motivations, and barriers to engaging family caregivers in chronic illness self-management from the perspectives of patients, family caregivers, and clinical providers. The presentation will also review a pilot intervention study intended to improve collaboration and communication between patients and family caregivers as a way to enhance self-management. Intended audience: Researchers, clinical providers, and operational leaders who are interested in improving family engagement in clinical care.
