Description: This Cyberseminar will present new information about contraceptive utilization and care within the VA Healthcare System based on data from the “Examining Contraceptive Use and Unmet Need among Women Veterans” (ECUUN) study, a nationally representative survey designed to obtain information on reproductive outcomes and factors affecting risk of unintended pregnancy and contraceptive use among reproductive-aged women Veterans who use VA for primary care. Data presented will include unintended pregnancy and contraceptive use patterns and provider and system-level factors associated with contraceptive method provision. Additional data presented will include patient-level factors associated with contraceptive use, including medical illness, mental illness, and contraceptive knowledge, preferences and beliefs. Intended audience: anyone interested in primary care and women’s health, including clinicians, researchers, operations and policy personnel.
