Description: We examine the association between the average number of Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACTs) to which core team members belong and their primary care unit’s performance. We find that emergency department use is higher for patients whose core PACT members are assigned to more than one PACT team. This is particularly the case for facilities with more complex patients. Intended audience: primary care leadership, clinicians, and researchers interested how variation in PACT structure relates to primary care unit performance.
