Description: This session demonstrates the Modeling to Learn program using the suicide prevention module. After describing how to tell the suicide prevention systems story: "Higher Care Quality Improves Recovery," this session reviews a team's hypothesis, findings, and decisions in response to the question: What if we made no new decisions in this team? Modeling to Learn how to tell a systems story. Learning Objectives: 1. Describe the systems story of this team's suicide prevention priority; 2. Test out your thinking about causes of this team's challenges using the model diagram; 3. Apply clinical expertise to develop a question for team learning using simulation. Modeling to Learn how to evaluate our Base Case of no new decisions. Learning Objectives: 4. Describe the base case of no changes in this team; 5. Test out your thinking about what is likely to cause oscillation in team trends; 6. Apply systems thinking to develop a hypothesis about this team's suicide prevention priority. Intended audience: clinicians and researchers interested in advancements for addressing suicide prevention and mental health in Veterans.
