A Feasibility Study of Mindful Self-Compassion for Veterans with Moral Injury and Co-Occurring PTSD and Substance Use Disorders

Description: Abstract: Dr. Eaton will provide an overview of the rationale for offering mindfulness and self-compassion-based interventions to Veterans and review the current state of the literature. Specifically, she will share experiences of implementing Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) among Veterans with co-occurring PTSD-SUD and for those suffering with moral injury. Additionally, she will highlight lessons learned and modifications to the MSC protocol to meet population needs. Target Audience: The talk is intended to apply to both clinicians and researchers interested in mindfulness and self-compassion-based interventions.
