Description: This Cyberseminar will focus on the "career shock" concept and framework described in nearly 50 years of empirical literature focused on organizational and occupational psychology. Tracing the roots of this concept through the end of the second world war until the present we examine how career disruptions have been conceptualized and re-conceptualized within the context of the greater world view on the person-context intersection of the work place. We examine the evidence for COVID 19 to represent a "career shock" for early career researchers and offer practical tips on how to navigate the pandemic. Intended Audience: VA HSR&D early career research community, CDA's and anyone interested in the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on health services researchers.
