Description: This session will provide an overview of the HSR&D Pain/Opioid Consortium of Research (CORE) and its goals to identify a priority research agenda and support collaborative research in the broad area of pain and opioid research. The presenters will provide a deeper dive into the CORE’s activities by highlighting two ongoing CORE projects, the Veteran Engagement Panel (VEP) and a Delphi consensus study. The CORE’s VEP is a diverse national panel of Veterans with personal experience with pain and/or opioids who are available to provide feedback to research teams on any aspect of a research project to enhance patient-centeredness. In the Delphi consensus study, subject matter experts have been convened to develop recommendations for assessment of iatrogenic opioid dependence using an iterative process of surveying and consensus building.
